Driven by the belt attached to the crankshaft of the engine, the supercharger can show 50 percent increased power and 30 percent increased torque. The supercharger without increasing the weight of the engine or consuming more fuel gives the extra power boost to the engine. The supercharger impeller spins at a speed of 50,000 to 60,000 RPM to draw air at high speed. The diffuser around the impeller converts it into high-pressure, low-speed air. The supercharger uses 20 percent of the engine power to work efficiently.
